We were inspired by conversations with neighbours struggling to find reliable tradespeople, parents on the hunt for trusted tutors, and residents sifting through scattered Facebook posts just to book a haircut. Social media felt cluttered, paper directories were outdated, and many great local services were going unseen.

So we asked: What if there were one place—clean, accessible, and built for locals by locals—where trust and community came first?

That’s how The Darras Index was born. A modern, digital directory designed to bring visibility to the brilliant businesses in our area—while saving time and cutting through the noise for residents. It’s about making it easy to connect, whether you need a roofer on a rainy day or a piano teacher for your child.

And to make sure it’s truly for everyone, listings are free for the first four weeks and cost just £1 a week after that, with no subscription—because growing a business shouldn’t cost the earth.

This isn’t just a directory. It’s a movement to strengthen our community.
